Association of Journalists in Macedonia, Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers, together with laid off journalists from former printed media outlets “Utrinski Vesnik,” “Vest,” and “Tea Moderna” talked about financial situation in the company where they worked. Recently, company Media Print Macedonia closed their printed edition and laid off more than 120 journalists, with decision to remain on the market only with one printed edition of a newspaper “Dnevnik,” and several online edition of mentioned former print media, but with drastically decreased number of staff. According to the representatives of journalist organizations, they would submit to the authorities information about former company financial situation and would request thorough investigation about reported salaries of some of the previous owners of the company and their shares in the former well known private media company, publisher of several media outlets. Investigators of the Special Public Prosecution already entered the company in previous months.
