Federal Judge Blocked US President Trump’s Order on Sanctuary Cities

San Francisco-based U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick blocked a directive from President Donald Trump for the “sanctuary cities,” Politico.com writes in the article Judge blocks Trump’s order on sanctuary cities. Orrick issued a preliminary injunction on Tuesday on the portion of January 25 Trump executive order, which would cut the federal grants to local government. Orrick, who is an Obama appointee called “not legally plausible” arguments of the Justice Department that Trump wanted to ensure compliance with current law.” As Politico.com write, “The judge acted on lawsuits brought by California’s San Francisco and by Santa Clara counties.” Another suits are pending over the same issues brought by Trump’s immigration-enforcement executive order.
