The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that airstrikes on Khan Sheikhoun by Syrian government or Russian jets had caused many people to choke. At least 70 people died, including 10 children and dozens are injured in a suspected chemical attack, the activists say. CNN.com says, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 58 were dead, including 10 children. The High Negotiations Committee, an umbrella opposition group, said as many as 100 died. The rebels hold control of the town, BBC.com writes. The Syrian military denied the claims and said it would never use chemical weapons. The White House press secretary Sean Spicer did not explained what the U.S. administration would do about the attack, but said President Donald Trump spoke with his national security team about the issue. Latter, the White House issued a statement by the president in which, President Trump says today’s attack in Syria against innocent people, including women and children is reprehensible and it cannot be ignored by the civilized world. As Trump states, “these heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution.”
