In an explosion outside an imambargah at a market in Parachinar, at least 22 people died and 50 others are injured, Pakistani DawnNews on English reported on Friday. A surgeon at the hospital confirmed that they have 22 dead bodies and 57 injured, including women and children. Dawn.com says, a parliamentarian from Parachinar, Sajid Hussain talked to Reuters and said, “it was a suicide attack, preceded by gunfire.” He said a women’s mosque appears to be target. In a video message banned outfit Jamat-ul-Ahrar acknowledge the attack. Parachinar has a population of 50,000 and it is 250 km. west of Peshawar. Parachinar is the main town in the tribal region Kurram, which has a significant Shia population and faces sectarian violence. On January 21, 2017 at least 20 died and 40 were injured after bomb explosion in Parachinar’s market in Shiite area.
