The White House could impose additional sanctions on Iranian entities, as response to the Iran’s ballistic missile test on Sunday. Reuters reported first on the possibility for additional sanctions. The White House already mentioned that administration is reviewing how to respond.Michael Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser said that Iran is “on notice” after the test-firing the missile.
According to the unnamed source, cited by Reuters, the sanctions would not conflict the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The sanctions will be under Executive Order 13224, which freezes the U.S. assets of entities or individuals who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism, and Executive Order 13382, which freezes the assets of weapons of mass destruction or their supporters, says Reuters.
The White House, State Department and Treasury Department did not comment immediately, Reuters writes.
