Protest At Berkeley Canceled Speech of Polarizing Editor

University of California Berkeley was forced to put the campus on lockdown after sudden protests erupted because the scheduled event with the polarizing Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopulos. Protesters at the liberal-leaning university rushed to the building that should have hosted the speech with bricks and fireworks.

Masked activists joined the large group of protesters between Sather Gate and the north end of Telegraph Avenue, while campus police was at the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union building, CBSNews reports.

Some of the protesters breached at least one of the police barriers and enter the venue of the first floor. Organizers canceled the event, which was last stop of Yiannopoulos with a tour against, as he calls, “epidemic of political correctness on college campuses.” One person was shot during similar event, including this news editor in Seattle on January 21.
