The House joined the Senate in making the foundation for speedy action to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the New York Times reported. The House approved the budget blueprint passed by the Senate on Thursday. The quick action by Congress this week, the Times comments, adds “urgency to the vexing question of what comes next.”
The Times says, Republicans are far from reaching a consensus how to replace the health care law that ensured more than 20 million Americans to gain “health insurance.” Senate yesterday passed the same measure by a 51-to-48 vote. This directs four House and Senate committees to make legislation, which Republican leaders plan to use that language, says Times, to repeal major parts of the health care law.
