Turksh police, “have identified the alleged Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militant,” who reportedly attacked a nightclub in Istanbul as Uzbek national Abdulkadir Masharipov, Hurryiet Daily News reports.
The attacker remains at large, but according to the latest information, “an ISIL cell in Konya of Uzbeks continued to provide logistical support to Masharipov,” whose code name is reportedly, “Ebu Muhammed Horasani.”
The attacker arrived in Istanbul from the Central Anatolian province of Konya on December 15, 2016. The attack in Reina nightclub happened on New Year’s Day, when a gunman killed 39 people and injured 65 others.
