Mic editor-in-chief Jake Horowitz published the possibility that President Barack Obama could enter the digital media business after the end of his presidency. Horowitz, who has ties to Obamaworld, as Politico.com reports cited anonymous sources, who said Obama could launch Media Company. Regardless, the White House communications director Jen Psaki said there is no such endeavor.
On Mic, Horowitz quoted the White House communication director Jen Psaki who said in a statement, “While the president will remain actively engaged in inspiring young people and he is interested in the changing ways people consume information, he has no plans to get into the media business after he leaves office.”
One of the leading journalism think-thank organizations for education of journalists, Poynter Institute in Florida, cited the Mic.com article and said, “The White House swiftly denied it, but that didn’t stop journalists from cracking wise about the possibility.”
