President Barack Obama explained on October 5, the United States government would respond to Hurricane Matthew. Obama had a briefing at the Federal Emergency Management Agency after which he stated that he wants to emphasize to the public that this is a serious storm. “It has been building strength on its way to Florida,” Obama stated and appealed to the Americans to respect evacuation rules.
The deadly storm, as CNN reports could make landfall Friday morning on Florida’s east coast. “I cannot emphasize enough that everyone in our state must prepare now for a direct hit,” Florida Gov. Rick Scott said Wednesday. In a less then 24 hours, people need to prepare, evacuate and shelter. The hurricane already killed 10 people in some of the Caribbean countries before he braces toward Bahamas and the United States. CNN reports that forecasters predicted Matthew “will strengthen to a Category 4 hurricane by the time it gets to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina sometime between Thursday evening and Saturday.”
