In two separate bombings on Thursday in Baghdad more than 22 people died and 70 others are injured. Iraqi police says, one explosion targeted a commercial street and the other an army checkpoint, Reuters reported. A car bomb exploded in a commercial street of Baghdad al-Jadeeda, which killed 15 and injured over 50, a police officer said. In Taji, north of Baghdad, another suicide car bomb targeted a main army checkpoint. The blast killed seven soldiers and wounded more than 20. Iraqi military started an offensive to regain Fallujah from the Islamic State group, which holds the city since 2014.
