Sentences in Case on False ID cards

Skopje’s Criminal Court sentenced Zakir Bekiri to two-years and six months in prison in the case of false ID cards, the state news agency MIA report in Skopje. In addition, the court set the financial fine for Bekiri of 123.000 MKD denars, or about 2.000 euros. His brother Imer, as MIA states, should pay financial fine of 61,500 MKD denars, or about 1.000 euros.

Until the effectiveness of the verdict, since this the first instance court sentence, the court set the brothers free.

Local media refers to this case as “Фабрика за афери,” which translated into English is “fabric for affairs.” The case is about making false ID cards.
