Primary Court in Skopje Judged More Than 15 Years Sentences in “Cell” Case

Primary Court Skopje 1 today decided on the sentences in total of more than 15 years in prison for five remaining defendants in the police case “Cell,” from August 7 last year. As the Primary Court Skopje 1 in Skopje statement says, defendant I.F. got the single sentence of four years and six months for participation in foreign army, police, paramilitary organizations. Another defendant A.A. for the same crime according to the Criminal Code got sentence of three years and one month. E.R got single sentence of four years, while I.M. and S.S. each got two years of imprisonment. The Court said, the Council decided that all six defendants who previously plead guilty to crimes, “were found guilty.”

The defendants could appeal the court’s ruling.

Early on August 7, police detained several people in Skopje and raided an improvised mosque in Skopje for reported activities related to the participation in foreign armies, especially in the conflicts in Syria or Iraq, where the Islamic State group held territory.
