Protests In Skopje: Balloons With Colors Toward Public Revenue Office

Protest of the colorful revolution, a name given to the everyday protests in Skopje and other towns in Macedonia, continued on Tuesday with the protests walk from the offices of the Prosecution for intercepted conversations toward the Public Revenue Office in Skopje. The demonstrators hold a banner with one of the sentences from the reported intercepted conversations. When the demonstrators, including members of the opposition arrived at the building of the revenue office, police officers prepared to the following activities. As in the past three weeks, demonstrators throw balloon with colors to the institutions. Here are some photographs of today’s protests in Skopje. Main requests of the demonstrators are removal of the pardon granted to 56 state officials by the President Gjorgje Ivanov, changes in the date of elections, scheduled for June 5. Today’s protests where about the level of the public debt of Macedonia and economic spendings in the country. The public debt, as published by the Ministry of Finance from the data of the Central Bank, in the first quarter of 2016 is 45 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product.
