One Detention in “Fortress” Case

The Primary Court Skopje 1 in Skopje decided to give a 30 days detention for the first suspect in the case “Fortress” opened by the Public Prosecutor for crimes related and which arise from the illegal interception of the communication. The Court says tonight in the statement that sides in the case have a right to appeal the judge of the preliminary procedure’s decision for detention in the next 24 hours.

This prosecution suspects the five person for destroying the systems for communication monitoring and the damage to the state assets in the amount of 10,000,000,00 euros or 615,000,000,00 denars. Pro-government media published that the value of the destroyed equipment was one denar.

However, the Court decided to approve the request for the detention. For other officials mentioned in the case, the Prosecution requested taking the passports. One of the suspects, as Prosecution refers, in the case is former Minister of Interior. The official resigned after police action in Kumanovo on May 9, 2010.
