The U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said on Friday the killing of the Islamic State militant, but did not give details on the operation when and how he was “eliminated.”
“We are systematically eliminating ISIL’s cabinet,” Carter explained. “Indeed, the U.S. military killed several key ISIL terrorists this week, including, we believe, Hajji Iman, who was an ISIL leader — senior leader — serving as a finance minister and who was also responsible for some external affairs and plots.”
Carter announced the information during a news conference with Joint Chiefs Chairman Marine Gen. Joe Dunford on Friday morning at the Pentagon. Islamic State militant was known with numerous names he used as aliases, most commonly Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli.
