The investigators in the Brussels attacks consider one hypotheses in which, “there would have been two groups ready to strike simultaneously,” Belgium broadcaster VTR says, while public broadcaster in Belgium RTBF confirmed. Salah Abdeslam, Mohamed Belkaïd and a third man, Amine Choukri, were planning a major shooting in the streets of Brussels with Kalashnikovs and riot guns, in parallel to the attacks of Brussels Airport and Maelbeek metro, RTBF says. The media say that “in part this failed” after the street search of the Brussels suburb Forest, where Mohamed Belkaïd was shot. Abdeslam Salah Amin and Shukri had escaped first, but they were arrested a few days later in Molenbeek’s Rue des Quatre-Vents.
