Jason Rezaian, a Washington Post reporter, closed another chapter on Friday after he finally left the U.S. base in Germany, not with a state plane, as it was before said, but, as CNNMoney claims on a plane in the ownership of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. CNNMoney did not publish any photography or the departure, but claims that in a statement released on Friday morning, Rezaian traveled home on a private jet with Bezos. Bezos aboard a private plane before it took off for the United States on Jan. 22, 2016, from Saarbruecken, Germany.
A Post spokeswoman said that Amazon’s CEO had dinner with the Rezains on Thursday evening inside the U.S. Army base in Germany and flew them back home.” Post editors Martin Baron and Douglas Jehl arrived in Germany on Sunday and met with Rezaian on Monday.Rezaian spend several days in a military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. Court in Iran denied to sentence Rezaian in July 2014 under the charges for espionage.
The Washington Post said, “Rezaian did not give any interviews while in Germany. The journalist said in a separate statement earlier this week that he would like “to get back to writing the U.S.-Iran story at some point in the future,” but for now wanted to take some time off and to enjoy being with his family.” Bezos owns the Washington Post from 2013.
