How Much Clean Air We Need?

Residents of Skopje protested at the City Park in Skopje against polluted air and requested of the Skopje’s Mayor Koce Trajanovski measurement to protect the population.

At the peaceful gathering, people said that they want clean air, protested against cutting trees and appealed to the authorities with the measurements that according to them will improve the air quality in the city. At the moment when people gathered at the park the concentration of PM10 particles in the Municipality Center (Центар) was 182 mg/m³, while recommended daily values adopted by the European Union are 50 mg/m³.

The air quality in Macedonia varies due to the seasons, but various sources point out that in biggest part of the year, the air is polluted.
